What are the next steps?
To help us better protect others, these are the actions you need to take:
- Self-isolate for 10 days: The person with symptoms should not leave their home for 10 days from when the symptoms started, however mild they are. Read our self-isolation guide
- Book a test: The person with symptoms should book a test immediately at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/testing-and-tracing/get-a-test-to-check-if-you-have-coronavirus/
- The household needs to self-isolate for 10 days: The household should not leave the house for 10 days.
- Ask friends for help: Ask a family member or friend to deliver essential items, such as food and medication.
- Ring Community Helpline: If you need help, please contact the community helpline on 0808 802 0020.
- Self-isolation timer: If you have already set an isolation timer within the app, your symptom check will not change this. If you receive a positive test, you can then reset your timer in the ‘self-isolation’ section.
